Tacombi Tacos Take Tens of Tastebuds by Storm

It wasn’t Tuesday, but the tacos Alliance served program participants on August 9, 2023 were a hot commodity. Alliance provides approximately 30,000 nutritious meals to our program participants throughout the year, and thousands more bags of healthy pantry goods.

Alliance’s Corrections Health Initiative (CHI) team joined fellow providers at the Albany statehouse August 1-2 to discuss the program’s successes and challenges. CHI matches HIV-positive individuals being released from incarceration with dedicated case managers like Ruben and E., who guide them through all components of re-entry, and provide them skills and supplies to navigate challenges and improve their health.

Toy Story-themed Kiki Ball

On Friday, June 30, Alliance hosted a Toy Story-themed Kiki Ball at Performance Space New York, and over 400 people came to attend or participate in the ball. Costumes and energy were amazing, and winners received Toy Story-themed prizes. Our friends at Project STAY conducted 16 HIV tests, while Alliance conducted 18 for hepatitis C, and linked all who tested positive to comprehensive care.
