Alliance Voices 2023 Poetry Reading at Barnes and Noble

Thursday, April 20, Barnes & Noble, Union Square graciously hosted our annual Voices poetry reading, which featured live readings by Azeem Khan, Rosa Velez, Harriet McNeill (a.k.a. Star Heed), Viola Hairston, Fred Street, “E” (a.k.a. EROBOS), and Charles Waters. At the reading, Alliance distributed copies of Situations 22, the brand-new edition of our annual poetry magazine which features the works by the presenting poets.

Alliance on the Move Mobile Van Outreach

Alliance on the Move, our mobile van performing HIV and hepatitis screenings, has continued to be active in the community, reaching hundreds of New Yorkers for first time or regular HIV and hepatitis rapid tests.

Alliance rallies outside Governor Hochul's NYC office to stop the 340B carve out

Today, over 50 Alliance community members assembled outside Governor Kathy Hochul’s 3rd Avenue Manhattan office and held a rally with other safety net providers. Our CEO Sharen Duke spoke and called on the Governor to REJECT her 340B carve out plan. Watch Sharen’s remarks here.
