Alliance Program Participant Holiday Celebration

Alliance celebrated the holidays with our program participants by distributing wrapped toys, winter clothing items, and food pantry necessities to hundreds of New Yorkers and their families. Special thanks to FPWA, Help Is On The Way Today, PVH, Team New York Aquatics, and New York City Gay Men’s Chorus for their donations to make this time of year joyous for our participants.

Promoting Vaccine Access in Harlem Subway Stations

In an effort to promote equitable access to vaccine information, Alliance has placed ads at the entrances to the 116th, 125th, and 135th Streets 2-3 subways lines featuring Alliance team members as the stars. Check out our ads this winter!

World AIDS Day 2021 at Alliance

To honor those lost to HIV and those continuing to live courageously with HIV/AIDS, Alliance hosted an all day program of events on December 1. While anyone could participate virtually, Alliance staff, peers and friends came to Midtown Central to be together for our program of events, which included “Reading of Names,” “In their Own Words: HIV in Me,” “Confronting Miss Information,” “Poets Cafe,” “What do you know about Sexuality,” “Test your knowledge about HIV/AIDS,” and, of course, Free and Confidential testing at all Alliance facilities.

Peer Recovery Education Program (PREP) Class of 57 Graduates

Begun over 25 years ago, Peer Recovery Education Program (PREP) has been a resource to over 1,000 New Yorkers seeking positive change in their lives. Though our cycle 57 was entirely virtual, we invited graduates to come to Alliance Midtown for portraits with their certificates of completion and of perfect attendance, which a very high number of our participants achieved. Turkey Giveaway Extravaganza at CASA Washington Heights (2021)

Aided by the generous sponsorship of Ally's #TotallyCovered holiday season philanthropy, we served over 300 Turkeys and fixings to Alliance program participants and the community on Saturday, November 20 outside CASA Washington Heights. We also served over 1,000 pounds of chickens, fresh produce and nonperishables, and provided free rapid HIV tests at our mobile Alliance on the Move van.
