Brooklyn SCS Town Hall

Council Members Stephen Levin (District 33) and Brad Lander (District 39) are hosting a town hall with our partner VOCAL-NY regarding the pilot of an Overdose Prevention Center (or Safer Consumption Space) in Brooklyn.

Overdose Prevention Centers have been proven to save lives, reduce the spread of HIV and hepatitis C, reduce the risks/harms associated with law enforcement and people who use drugs, and provide critical linkage to services and treatment.  

Community dialogue is important as NYC moves forward with the Mayor’s plan to implement four pilot centers. If you live in Council Member Levin or Lander’s district, please join us at the town hall (details below) to provide insight on harm reduction and how Overdose Prevention Centers are critical public health interventions in the fight to end overdose:

***From 7-7:30 PM there will be naloxone training from VOCAL-NY

Council Member Lander’s District: Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Columbia Waterfront, Gowanus, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Borough Park, Kensington
