Peer Grad Cycle 62 Graduation

Alliance Invites You to Join Us in Celebrating Our 62nd Cycle of Peer Graduates!

Come celebrate our Peer Graduates of Cycle 62 on Wednesday, May 22 at 5:00pm at our Midtown Central Office. Alliance’s Peer Recovery Education Program (PREP) launched 30 years ago and has trained over 1,500 Peers to bring positive change to their communities. Alliance’s PREP training is an intensive course that equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to conduct HIV prevention and harm reduction services that save lives.

If you’ve attended one of Alliance’s amazing Peer Graduations before, you know just how inspiring the graduates’ stories of personal growth are. You won’t want to miss this year’s event.

All month long, we’ll be hosting community engagement programs and celebrations of Black culture. On February 7, for Black AIDS Awareness Day, we’re hosting a slate of events at Midtown Central from 11:00am-2:30pm. The events will begin with a webinar titled “How the History of Medical Distrust from Black People with HIV Affects Acceptance of New Healthcare Developments” and then a Presentation “Elite Choice: Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program” followed by a fun game of Jeopardy, with fresh lunch served, and incentives given out.

Bring your shopping cart and take home fresh fruit, produce, juice, crackers, canned foods, cereal, and more. This month’s open food pantry day is Wednesday, December 6 at Alliance Midtown Central.

Pantry pick-up is also available upon request from CASA Washington Heights, Keith Haring Center, and LES Harm Reduction Center.

Stop Killing Us Global Campaign, a transgender advocacy agency, with a mission and supporting our BlackTransWomxn, is hosting a community day at the New Museum—located at 235 Bowery—on Saturday, December 2 from 12:00-4:00pm. Join Stop Killing Us, Alliance for Positive Change, Ryan Health, and other great agencies for an afternoon art-making, wellness workshops, clothing drive, and a health resources fair from these community partners. This event was organized by former Alliance Peer Lexii Foxx.
